Question 6:
Why root canal treatment is essential? - Krish
Root canal treatment is done so that the tooth can be saved for its function.
It is necessary for tooth which cannot be restored otherwise and will go for extraction.
Root canal treatment procedure
Root canal treatment procedure includes cleaning, shaping & sealing the inside of a decayed or infected tooth with an inert material.
A crown is mostly necessary after the treatment.
In this procedure, the pulp (which is present in the inside) of the tooth is removed and the canal is cleaned & sealed.
Question 7:
My teeth is in yellow color. This makes me feel inferior and I keep my mouth closed as much as possible. I consulted a dentist and he asked me to go for cap. Is this advisable? - Sankar
First check whether professional bleaching can lighten your shade.
Mostly bleaching with no other contraindications can lighten your teeth.
If not, then go for veneering or crown (also called as cap).
Veneers are thin layers of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of teeth. They are more conservative than crowns.
Crowns cover the entire surface of the teeth, so requires more teeth reduction.
