Aarti’s personal telephone started ringing all of a sudden, startling Aarti.
It took her a few seconds to recompose herself. Though she wanted a few moments for herself, Aarti also felt gratified that the phone disturbed her. Immersing in memories is not a solution; it is escapism. Aarti doesn’t like to escape. She faces and fights the demons!
She switched the speaker on and said "yes" in a commanding tone.
"Sorry to disturb you, Rajkumari ji. Mister Jaswant Rai is here to meet you." Aarti could sense the nervousness in Saraswathi’s voice.
"Does he have an appointment?" She queried her secretary in a placid tone.
"Yes, Rajkumari ji. I tried explaining to him, but he seemed to be upset," replied Saraswathi politely.
"It’s ok Saraswathi. Send him in," approved Aarti.
Aarti closed her eyes as if to pacify herself and get herself ready for the confrontation. She knew what was coming up, but she was also aware that she had to face it!
