Troubled Blood is the fifth novel in the “Cormoran Strike” series, written by J. K. Rowling in her pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

Cormoran Strike is a series of crime fiction novels. The stories account the cases of private detective Cormoran Strike, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, and his pretty and intelligent partner Robin Ellacott.

So far, five novels have been published in the series.

Summary:

Strike and Robin are both struggling with personal problems when a new client approaches them to investigate a 40-year-old disappearance of a doctor named Margot Bamborough.

The police's principal suspect in Margot's disappearance is a currently jailed serial killer named Dennis Creed.

Because of their own problems and other cases, the investigators take time to dig into this new case.

Though Margot’s daughter decides to terminate Strike’s contract, Strike and Robin decide to pursue further and investigate the disappearance of Margot.

Strike and Robin tries to track down people who were around Margot and try to interrogate Creed. But the resulting events are not what they are looking for!

How Robin and Strike use the old evidence from the original police investigation and their current investigation to discover the reason for Margot's disappearance and the culprit behind it, forms the rest of the story.

Review:

This is a twist filled Mystery and any Mystery genre lover will adore it. Also, the sentimental and delicate portions of the sub-plots like Strike and Robin’s friendship, Strike and his dying aunt, etc. are very neatly handled.

On the flip side, the novel feels a bit lengthy with too (too!) many side stories and so.

Overall, a good read.
