Synopsis

In Robert B. Parker's Buzz Kill, private investigator Sunny Randall is approached by billionaire media mogul Bill Welch to find his missing son, Dylan Welch, co-founder of the Gonzo Energy Drink company. Dylan is notorious for his hard-partying lifestyle and unreliability. While Sunny is initially hesitant, Dylan's mother, Lydia, convinces her that this disappearance is different and that Dylan is in genuine danger.

As Sunny delves into the investigation, she befriends Dylan's business partner, Sky, who appears to be Dylan's opposite: intelligent, ambitious, and empathetic. Despite Dylan's flaws, Sky is deeply concerned about his well-being and urges Sunny to find him. Through her investigation, Sunny uncovers Dylan's questionable behavior, including his mistreatment of women and reckless business decisions, particularly concerning an energy drink that has proven to be dangerous. Despite these findings, Sky maintains that Dylan is a good person. As the case progresses and bodies begin to surface, Sunny must navigate a web of lies and danger to uncover the truth before she or her loved ones become the next targets.
