"No I don’t want you to even remember me! I made the first grave mistake of my life by marrying you. I repeated the same mistake again for the sake of uncle."
There was no reply from Nikhil.
Pooja looked at her husband. There was something in his face that confused her!
Even before she could think about it,
"I guess the plan is to start early. So, it is better that you sleep now. You may not get good sleep while traveling" said Nikhil.
Pooja had to try hard to hide her rage.
Why should everything happen like this in her life? A husband who doesn't bother anything about her!
Pooja shook her head as if to come out of her thought!
How can she even expect affection from him? He has never cared about her.
Their marriage was his way of taking revenge over her father and nothing else!
Pooja bit her lips and went to the bed. Nikhil moved the comforter to her and then switched off the light.
There was silence everywhere!
Pooja couldn't control anymore. Tears started rolling from her eyes slowly!
Pooja got ready without any energy. Nikhil was standing near the door looking at her.
Why did she fall in love with him? Why is god so cruel to her?
"You are ready?"
There was no emotion in his voice.
Pooja just shook her head in acceptance.
"Good, let's go to hall then! Where's your suitcase?"
"It's only a single suitcase, I can carry it" said Pooja trying hard to hide her emotions just like him.
"That's ok, I have to lift this one, so I can carry yours too"
Pooja looked in the direction he pointed. There was a small suitcase there.
"But… That's not mine… Then… What…" stammered Pooja.
"That’s mine" said Nikhil in the same tone.
"What???" asked Pooja!
Her eyes opened wide as if they will pop out any time.
Nikhil came near her with his simple smile.
"Yes, that's mine and I am coming with you too"
"But… But..."
"No ifs or buts my dear rose, I am coming with you to prove myself! I love you so much Pooja and I will do anything for you even if includes taking a test to prove my love!"
Pooja's heart started pumping fast out of joy!
"Did you really think I will let you go away from me again? It's been a hell without you Pooja. Whatever be it, I can't let you go"
"But what about your business? Who will manage it?"
"I spoke to dad and he is more than happy that I am accompanying you. Also Pratap is there to help him"
"o!"
That was her reply. She couldn't come out of the sweet surprise.
Nikhil was staring at her and as if in an impulse, bent his head and kissed her. Slowly his arms wrapped around her into a tight hug.
Pooja's mind was wavering somewhere but she made no attempt to move away from her husband's tight embrace.
Nikhil freed her after a few minutes but looked straight into her eyes and said,
"Let's not make others wait for us. But get this right my dear wife. I am going to win your heart back! I will bring you back with your brother's consent. Whatever happens I will never let you go out of my life ever again"
"Pooja…" Pallavi's voice disturbed their eye lock.
"Come lets go" said Nikhil and took the suitcases and walked towards hall.
Pooja followed him in amaze.
Her heart started to tease her brain…
See, I told you!!!
But her brain was in no mood to yield to her heart yet!
Oh, come on, we have seen this all before. Just because he accepted to take the test doesn’t mean he will pass!
"What? Why is he coming with us?"
Prabakar's voice brought her back to earth!
"Praba, what is this? They are married couple. He has all rights to travel with her. Whether you like it or not, he is your brother in law. You better stop behaving like a child!"
Pallavi was trying to calm down Prabakar in a soft voice.
"But…"
"Praba, you can't say he shouldn't come with us. Keep quiet now!" said Pallavi to her husband and turned towards Nikhil and said,
"Sorry about that. You keep the suitcases here."
Nikhil kept both their suitcase together.
"You can keep one here and the other in the other side"
"That is ok. I don’t want to separate them" said Nikhil and winked looking at Pooja.
