Though her voice was soft, she looked angry…
“Suji, I know how you feel... Bu he is my friend…”
“Then who am I?”
“You are also my friend… And yes you are my best friend… I wouldn't have accepted his help on a normal day.... But I hate working for this Baskar… Now Bharath’s help gives me a chance to escape from this monster… Please understand me…”
“Yes, I can understand you… I am sorry to have got you into this mess… I hope this will not bring any other complications…”
"Let’s hope so… But really speaking even if it does bring complications, let’s find some other way to fix it…”
“Ok…” said Sujatha halfheartedly…
“Sir, here’s a cheque for fifty thousand rupees… Now give the agreement back and relieve me from the job…”
Baskar looked at the cheque.
“Bharath…! Hmmm…. Boyfriend???”
“That’s none of your business sir…”
“But are your sure you want to do this??”
‘Yes I am sure…”
“I have never seen a stupid like you…”
“What???”
“Yes you are a stupid girl… What else can I say??? Will anyone work for free other than you???"
"I am not stupid! I accepted to work for you for repaying that fifty thousand rupees... Now since I have repaid the money, let me go..."
"No you can't go...."
"But, why???"
"Do you know to read? Then read this agreement that you signed…”
Subha quickly went through the paper that he gave her…
“I have read that already sir…”
“Really??? Then why are you asking me to relieve you after paying this money???”
‘But sir….” Stammered Subha.
“Shubha… the agreement says you will work for me for 12.5 months without any break… and ofcourse without any compensation... That’s it… It doesn’t say that it’s for repaying my money…”
“But you know about that sir…”
“So what??? Now go back and work…”
Subha could not believe what is happening...!
“But sir can’t you get a steno for your company??? Why are you compelling me to work here?”
“Hmmm… I don’t like to give compliments… But…. You see… You are very talented… And that agreement is for making you stay atleast for a year...”
Subha starred at him in utter disbelief...
“What??? Why are you still standing here???”
“I think I should take this to the court… There are witnesses who know that you demanded fifty thousand for your car’s broken glass… And I don’t owe you anything…”
“Poor girl…! Yes you can try it… But that will go on for years… and I will bring in new complications for you and your friends, is that ok with you???”
“You can’t do this… Please sir... It’s difficult for me to stay here till ten… It’s not safe…”
‘I don’t care… Now go and start your work… And don't even think of not doing a quality work... I am sure you know about me well now... Don't take any chances with me..”
Subha kept staring at him…
Suddenly Baskar had horns… His ears grew… face changed red…
He is not a human… He is a devil…
How am I going to escape from him… wondered Subha!
