Kamal's Thoonga vanam is all set to hit the theaters this Diwali. Here's the tidbits about the movie.
- A drug trafficking gang leader kidnaps the son of a police officer who stole his drug cartels. He blackmails him to return his stocks. The police man’s plan to save himself and his son is the story of ' Thoongaa Vanam '.
- Kamal, Trisha, Kishore are acting as police officer while Prakash Raj stars as the drug trafficking gang leader.
- This is Trisha’s fiftieth movie.
- The movie is filmed in both Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. The crew has put meticulous effort in changing number plates to Police uniform for the Telugu version.
- Director Rajesh wanted Kamal to look somewhat rude but stylish… He liked the way Kamal appeared in an old photo. So he asked Kamal to look like that in the movie and Kamal readily accepted.
- During the shooting, for an accident scene there was no makeup man readily available and since Kamal has the skill, he worked as makeup artist for the crew.
- There’s only one song in the movie. It’s written by Vairamuthu and sung by Kamal himself
- Since Trisha is playing a Police officer’s role, she is acting without any makeup, not even mascara!
- This is an official remake of the French movie Sleepless night.
- The movie has got U/A certificate from the censor board mainly for the Bar scenes.
- This is the first Telugu movie in which Kamal has given his own voice for his character.
