Elephant love - A true love story!

An elephant rehabilitation center is located in the Talma national park, Jharkhand.

Here, they take care of a female elephant named Samba. This elephant was rescued from an unauthorized mahout in Ichagarh by the forest department officials in 2010. Since then, Samba is maintained in the elephant rehabilitation center.

Though they tie up Samba with a rope, she often go missing at 12 midnight, but interestingly comes back promptly at 2.00am.

Intrigued by her daily absence, the sanctuary officials tried to trace the reason behind the mystery and found that Samba goes out to meet her lover, a wild elephant!

Daily at midnight, a 25 year old elephant from the neighboring forest appears near the sanctuary and Samba goes to meet him breaking the ropes!

It looks as if both the elephants are madly in love!

But curiously, instead of going with her lover into the forest, Samba returns back after their daily meeting sharp at 2am.

As per the officials, this courtship has been going on from 2012.

They also mention that this 'unnamed' wild male elephant used to have a tendency of attacking villagers who cross his line. But, now after romantically smitten by Samba, he has become very quiet and has stopped attacking the villagers.

It should be noted that it's quite rare for a wild elephant to fall in love with a trained elephant.

Love knows no bounds, of course!!!!
