Ramani Chandran is a popular Tamil romance novelist, and presently one of the best-selling authors in the Tamil language. She has written about 150 novels. She has very huge fan followers worldwide and of course most of her fans are women.
Ramani Chandran was born on 10th July 1938 in Thiruchendur in Tamilnadu. Now she lives with her family in Chennai. Her husband's name is Bala Chandran. She has two children, one daughter and a son.
As per Wikipedia, she is the sister of Shiv Nadar (Founder and Chairman of HCL) and sister-in-law of Sivanthi Aadithan (Dina Thanthi).
Though, Ramani Chandran's stories are soft romantic stories that don’t talk much about serious issues like caste conflicts or religious conflicts, some of her books do talk about vulgarities of the society. All her stories have a happy ending with the hero and heroine uniting or re-uniting after clearing all the differences.
Some of her stories do have controversial themes (like Mayangugiraal oru maadhu, Thodu Kodugal) and have been many times criticized for supporting wrong deeds. But of late most of her heroines are characterized as modern women who have self respect and dignity.
Some of her popular novels include, Adi Vaazhai, Mai vizhi mayakkam, Mayangugiraal oru maadhu and Vanna vizhi paarvayile.
Whether you are a Ramani Chandran fan or basher, just remember one thing. Whether a book talks about real issues or not, it's not going to change your life. So, whatever you read, just take the good points and leave the bad stuff.
Our life is in our hand and no writer can re-write it for us .
