This year IPL occurs after the World cup extravaganza. The World cup starts around second week of February and goes on till March end. And as we all know IPL starts from April.

So has the World cup taken away the charm from IPL?

As always, even this year we have plenty of rumors, gossips floating around already! The glamorous dashing event hasn't lost all its charm yet!

Auction:

This year's IPL player auction date seems to be a 'best' kept secret!

Though there's no official word on the date yet, there are news afloat that the auction will happen on February 16th.

As per reports the players available for auction will be officially announced only on February 6th.

CSK to change hands???:

Chennai Super Kings franchise is owned by Indian Cements Limited. Since it's owner and BCCI president N Srinivasan is in crossroads with the Supreme court, it's rumored that ICL will be selling the franchise to allow Srinivasan continue the BCCI role.

It should be noted that Supreme Court has asked Srinivasan to select either CSK or BCCI sighting conflict of interest.

Potential CSK buyers MRF vs Varun Manian?

As per the latest buzz, Cine actress Trisha's beau Varun manian, a young billionaire builder is in race for buying the premier franchise.

Also in the race is the tyre giants MRF!

But CSK officials have not confirmed anything yet.

With the IPL auction date tentatively set to around second week of Feb, one should hope that the team will change hands well before that.

Players in auction?

Kevin Pieterson, Yuvraj Singh, D Sammy, Murali Vijay, Dinesh Karthik, C Pujara, L Balaji are some of the players let go by their teams.

While KP, Yuvraj, Dinesh still holds a high base price, Murali Vijay has reduced his base price to 50 Lakhs!

There's still no news on the Sri Lankan players.
