09.  Barath and Rathi - VJ G 

Barath got out first and helped others to get out of the car. Anitha told Barath,

‘We are travelling  first time in limousine, it’s very good experience’

‘Good aunty, let me know whenever you feel like going on that. I’ll arrange for you’ Barath told her and smiled to Rathi, she smiled at him nodding her head like saying thanks for his offer to her aunt.

Barathi, got a phone call, she picked up the call and said, ‘hello, oh Mr.Gosh, how are you? I am alright, no nothing to worry, oh, Mr.Barath, is our client, to meet yesterday? Oh! is it? So when is the next meeting? I don’t know if I will continue my job, I will be quitting very soon. Yeah, I know him, yes, he is my husband. Okay sir, I will stop by the office in a day or two to give the letter. The meeting,I will speak to him and will let you know.

She hung up the phone and asked him, ‘you’d the meeting with us yesterday? Is that why you were there?’ she asked him.

‘Yes, I didn’t get the chance to tell you, they told me the meeting is with the team of the bank people and a woman is among the team and they said that the woman is very smart and she is willing to meet with our team to tie up, so I’d no clue that it’d would be you’ he said that and smiled louder and said ‘what a small world’

Now you’ve got quit your job and take part in our business, your planned for the tie up to the bank we’ll discuss tonight’ he said with a humor and her face was reddened, she starred at him for teasing her.

They finished their lunch, it’s a heavy lunch.

On their way back Barath got a call he knew who it was? He picked up the phone and said, ‘ yes, Selvam, tell me, okay, send the details, okay, thanks, bye’

He looked at uncle, he understood by his look.

Barath asked uncle to explain about his portion of work, he explained it and Barath told him about his business and when he told him business name ‘

Uncle opened his mouth and he said you are the owner of that company he asked

‘No, my wife is the owner of the company and I am her partner, yeah…baby?’ He asked his wife, she smiled at him and turned to her uncle

He looked still shocked, she asked him too, is this company yours Ram, he turned to her and said, no……., it’s yours. You are the owner, remember when registered our marriage I took your signatures in some documents, I transferred my apartment to your name in India and the business on your name and all other properties which was on my name to yours, including the condo in New York, on your name. So, from now on either say ours or my.’ He said that in stern voice.

She said, ‘sorry’ he pulled her closer and kissed on her head.

Anitha was so happy to see the two of them and wanted to tell her sister about this.

Barathi understood her thought and told her aunt, ‘aunty, you don’t tell mom and dad, we will talk to them, please do not tell them anything now’ she requested to her

Anitha said, ‘good you told me, otherwise I would have called them to tell about two, she was very worried about you’

‘I knew it, that’s why I wanted, to tell you before’ she felt relieved by warning her aunt before she talked to mom.

Barath told the cab to go to his condo which was closer.

They arrived at Barath’s condo, ‘uncle asked where are we?’

Barath told him ‘you are at our condo, come in’ he said and took them in

Anitha said ‘Is this your own condo in the heart of the city? She asked him and he said ‘yes aunty it’s your niece’s condo’ he corrected her gently

Barathi noticed, the way he corrected her aunt.

They were there in the living, Barath told her, ‘take a tour of the condo aunty, after this we will have coffee and go to Rathi’s apartment to pick up her things, we’ll go to your place to pick up some of your things and come back here and eat here tonight and you will stay here for few more days with us, what do you say Barathi, tell them to stay here. Won’t you my love,’ he said that and leaned on her.

She told him very softy, ‘how can I ask them to stay here, when you are behaving like this before them, what will they think of me?’ she was also scared if aunt and uncle will listen to it, and he started laughing loudly and teasing her, asked aunt, aunty, do you have any problem if I, behave like this with my wife? Do you mind?‘ he was teasing her, she was thinking why is he doing that to her.

Aunt said ‘no Barath, we are in States and these are very common here. So go ahead and enjoy, you two got together after so long, so do not worry about anyone’ she didn’t turn towards him and went away from there to get ready to go to her apartment.

They went to her apartment, ‘she opened the door, everyone entered the apartment, it’s enough for single, She packed her clothes and the photos of her parents and uncle and aunt.
