The gang men needed someone to do the chores for them and hence decided not to hurt uncle instead keep him in their custody… huh!” sighed Pooja…

“What a weird life this is…” added Kalai…

“Yes it is…”

“But then Pooja, you should think about Nikki too… He…”

“Please Kalai let’s not talk about him now…”

“Ok… I am not going to say anything to justify his behavior… I just want to urge you to think from his shoes… As I said before there’s nothing that I can do to justify what he did… Whether it’s my mom or you, harassing a hapless woman is a crime… But…”

Pooja was quiet and Kalai stopped it there…

Pooja was so much lost in the book “Remember me” written by Mary Higgins Clarke that she didn’t realize it’s almost one ’o clock in the morning… It was a suspense genre story and was very well written by Clarke.

She got up from the chair and started walking thinking about the plot and appreciating the author in her mind as she reached the bedroom…

There was only a dim night light… She switched on the light to make sure that her ‘place’ in the bed is fine…

It all looked fine… Just when she was about to switch off the light, her eyes involuntarily went to the other side of the bed…

There was Nikhil deep in his sleep… He was slightly hugging there ‘border’ pillow…

His face looked very peaceful and calm…

How can this lovely person do such a bad thing to a helpless girl like her?

Immediately her mind went back to the conversation she had with Kalai…

“…Please try to think from his shoes…”

That’s what Kalai said…

Nikhil had married her in a registrar office and had immediately asked her to sign few papers… Just like Gayathri aunty she had signed it all without asking any questions… Then he had asked her to get into the car and while traveling he had coolly mentioned that he was only after her money… Since he had got what he was after, his plan was to drop her in her brother’s house…

She was devastated…

Prabakar had somehow found about their secretly arranged marriage plan and had tried his best to stop it… He just asked Pooja to give him some time to check if Nikhil is really a good match for her… But she was madly in love with Nikhil…

Love had blinded her eyes and she had replied very rudely to Prabakar and had asked him to stay away from her ‘own’ business…

And then her ‘love’ had shown his original color just few hours after their marriage…

Prabakar was enraged to see her… he was not willing to forgive her… She could not blame him for that… He had shown real affection towards her and she had betrayed him….

Suddenly Pooja’s mind woke up!

She is not a perfect person! She has betrayed Prabakar…

Her mom is not a perfect person either… She had been a very bad mom and has betrayed her daughter…

Not just her dad, even Gayathri aunty has hidden the truth from Kannan uncle…

Everyone has their own reason for betraying other person…

But is that acceptable? Looks like no one is perfect in this world…

Pooja again looked at her sleeping husband…

What he did was wrong… But then even in that pretext he didn’t behave badly with her… Even after marriage he didn’t even try to come near her… He took her properties but still dropped her at her brother’s house….

“…I am not a good husband... I know that... But whatever be it, I will have only one wife in my lifetime and that's you..."

Is it possible that he really loved her but then has to leave her like that because of the rage he had against her father?

Is that’s really possible?

For the first time, Pooja’s mind started to wonder if it’s actually possible that Nikhil truly loved her…

When she woke up in the next morning she felt very relaxed… The long hot shower also helped her to regain her spirits…

She managed to say a very cheerful Good morning to her husband…

Nikhil’s eyes expanded as if his black pupils are about to pop up!

Pooja’s face lit up with a broad grin…

She reached the living room with the same high spirits, when a familiar voice made her stop abruptly…

It was Prabakar’s voice…

“I am here to take Pooja back to my home… I hope you all understand that this marriage doesn’t make any sense…”
