Start your day with a steaming bowl of oats, which are full of omega-3 fatty acids, folate, and potassium.

Oatmeal is high in soluble fiber, which can lower cholesterol.

This fiber-rich superfood Oats have a type of fiber (called beta-glucan) that lowers your LDL (or bad) cholesterol.

It also help to keep your arteries clear.     

As per experts, Oats acts as a sponge in the digestive tract and soaks up the cholesterol so it is eliminated from the body and not absorbed into the bloodstream.

Experts also advice to avoid instant oatmeal, which often contains sugar, and instead opt for coarse or steel-cut oats which contain more fiber.

One and a half cups of cooked oatmeal or a little over a cup of cooked barley gives you the amount of beta-glucan you need daily to help lower your cholesterol.
