Chillzee : Hmmm... That's true... But usually mother's character is depicted as a self sacrificing character... Don't you think MOP sheds sort of negative light on father - daughter relationship?

Vathsala : No. The negativity was in the charachter and not on father-daughter relationship in general. The father's charachter also had his own justifications and I tried to bring out his feelings to the fullest possible extent. Without that father's charchter MOP would not have been this much interesting i feel. ( Adutha kathaiyile heroinukku oru thangamaanaa appavai kondu vanthiduvom. Don't worry.)

Chillzee : Yeah that's true! So, we can expect to see a super-duper heroine father in the upcoming series :-) Again going back to MOP, who is your favorite character in MOP?

Vathsala : I enjoyed creating vasanth and archanaa, but mano is close to my heart. I admired him as a great friend of vasanth with unconditional affection towards him.

Chillzee : Yes Mano was a very nice character. Just out of curiosity, is Balaji your relative or friend?

Vathsala : Balaji thaan namma agila ulaga rasigar manra thalaivar.;-). Actually he is my beloved younger brother. Just out of curiosity, what made u ask this question?

Chillzee : What else, unga rasigar mandra thalaivarin comments thaan :-) Just like your story, his comments (aka commenting style) was awesome.

Vathsala : Actually, even I admire his command over English. It's too good.

Chillzee : Not just English, his Tamil kavithai was also good ;-) Now moving away from writing, let's talk about your free time, What do you do in your free time?

Vathsala : Not only in my free time, but all through the day I keep hearing songs. Particularly illayaraaja songs. I do not hear them but I breathe them I should say. And I play a little of keyboard. that's it. 

Chillzee : Cool! You are multi-talented! Tell us about your favorite movie, actor and actress.

Vathsala : Not multi-talented and all. I have a little bit of interest in music. That's all. I have a very long list of favourite movies. jhonny, mullum malarum, mouna raagam, chandra mukhi, english vinglish KB's thamarai nenjam, Bama vijayam, to name a few. My all time favourite actor is our super star rajinikanth, then comes mohan. Actress: Iam a die hard fan of sridevi. Sneha and Anjali come after that.

Chillzee : That's a very interesting list! Tell us about your favorite books and authors.

Vathsala : The first book I ever read a was Maniyan's idhaya surangam. Great one. Other than that Sujatha's srirangathu devathaigal, Suba's kanmani sugama (which came as a thodarkathai in anantha vikatan), Bala kumaran's ullam kavar kalvan are the un-forgettable ones.
My favourite authors are Suba and Sujatha. I admire their writing style.

Chillzee : That's good to know. If I may ask, don't you like romantic genre stories?

Vathsala : Romance pidikaathavanga yaaaraavathu irukka mudiyumaaa???? . But my idea of romance is little different. I love some sort of soft, poetic romance. To say with a simple example, in the movie 'Mouna raagam', I liked Mohan's romance more than karthik's.

Chillzee : Hmmm... I guess many of us like both Mohan and Karthik :D Now let's take few questions from our readers... Here's the first one. Who inspired you to create Vasanth character in MOP?

Vathsala : I created vasanth as a personification of love, affection and humanity. Not a single person but I took the good qualities of many people around me and created the charachter. If I have to say in particular the only inspiration for all the dairy lines , is my husband. ;-)

Chillzee : That's so sweet of you :-) Another question from our readers, according to you, which is the important quality of a writer?

Vathsala : I have just now finished one single series and it is too early to talk about the quality of a writer, but in general I would like find a very positive feeling or a message at the end of every story I read.

Chillzee : One more from our readers... How did you get inspired to write stories?

Vathsala : I do not really know when it started. But some of the great authors whom I have read and excellent movies (especially K.Balachandar's ,and Mahendran's,) which I had watched with great interest should have inspired me to write and create my own characters.

Chillzee : Last question... Tell us how this MOP concept strike your mind. When and how did that happen?

Vathsala : If I remember correct I started writing this story during nov 2011. I started with vasanth and archana as separated lovers and archana as a devoted daughter. That time the story flow was different, and vivek's charachter was entirely different. After I started it on chillzee, the story got a very different flow. All charachters especially vasanth and archanaa's father got a very good shape only when I started it on chillzee. Really good experience.
