Laali’s Jungle Tales - 04

Little Laali loves to watch animals. But she gets hurt when she sees them in cages or in zoos as prisoners. So she often goes for jungle safari with her parents to see her beloved animals in action. During such visits, she learns useful life lessons too.
The Fantasizer’s Fate
In one such visit, Laali saw an Ostrich named Dreamy.
Dreamy had just then laid an egg.
She was very happy and proud of her egg.
She simply walked around it round and round.
“Wow, how beautiful is my egg,” she beamed.
Is my egg bigger than others’? Dreamy wondered.
Immediately she measured it.
It was really a big one.
Dreamy patted herself “Great job buddy”
She started her fantasy “Oh my Gosh I’m going to be a mother soon.
My chick is going to come soon to meet me.
I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a son.
He will be tall, fat and big.
He will be bigger than all other kids, the egg size guarantees it.
He will grow taller and taller till he becomes the tallest.
Oh…once he becomes the tallest, he will need lots of food.
I’ll be very old then to feed him as much as he need.
Now on, I need to start saving food which will not spoil until then. ”
Immediately Dreamy left the place.
She went to search for food which would last for years.
She could not find any such food.
She searched for the whole day.
Then she returned empty handed.
When Dreamy came back, poor thing the egg was missing.
Somebody had stolen it.
Life lessons:
On seeing this Laali said, Mom now I know why we should not run after fantasies.
Mom replied “Yes, dear, we should not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself”.
