06. Barath and Rathi - VJ G
It’s good that she did not quit her job as per Barath’s advise.
She told the cab to go to the bank. The cab arrived at her bank and good that she already withdrew some money before her marriage, she also hid the yellow thread inside her blouse so that no one see it. She paid the cab and entered the bank, When she enter and went to the managers room, the manager was asking her, why they were not informed of her absence and he was bit concerned. He also said there is a letter for her from the head office and gave her the letter.
She read the letter carefully and understood that, she has been transferred to Singapore Branch and she has to join there the following week itself. She showed the letter to the Manager and he greeted her for the promotion and for the international trip. He arranged for the next flight to Chennai and called the Chennai office to make all the papers to keep ready for her when she arrives.
She left from there to the airport and went to Chennai, picked up visa, flight ticket, and the Singapore currency.
She left from there to the airport. She called her parents from the airport and spoke to them. She did not tell them that she is going to Singapore. She did not want Barath to know her whereabouts and also informed both her branches not to tell anybody about her whereabouts. They did not ask for the reasons.
She arrived at the Singapore airport. She saw a man holding her name on the placard. She went near him and said ‘I am Barathi’
‘oh, mam I am Dilip, who is going to be your assistant’
she said ‘ Thank you, Dilip for coming and you are going my to be my assistant?’
He smiled at her and said ‘I thought the woman for this position will be very old, but you seem very young, I am little surprised’
She smiled. He looked at her and said ‘your smile is very beautiful’ she said to him that ‘ It’s okay we’ve met for the first time Dilip, but I don’t like talking like this. In future please be careful when you talk to me’ in a polite manner.
He was little shocked to hear that from her, it was very polite and soft.
He thought ‘wow what a woman she is?’
He told her that we are going to the apartment which, the bank has provided you. She asked about where the apartment is located and about that locality and the transportation details.

He told her that the bank has given the apartment in a very good location and the apartment is very beautiful and she was also provided a car with a driver. It’s the same car which they are driving back to the apartment.
They reached the apartment and Dilip went to the eight floor of her apartment and opened the door and entered in, he showed her around the apartment and gave her the instructions. He brought one bag with him, which had the essential things like soap, shampoo, milk, instant coffee etc.
He kept everything on the table and said ‘I will leave now mam and will come back tomorrow and will leave to our work together’ he said ‘good night’ to her and left from there.
She was left alone was thinking about her what happened since her meeting with Barath. What a stupid mistake she made. It’s her life that she should have not hurried to get married so fast not knowing not a man whom she is going to marry or his background. Where did he go leaving me alone, such an irresponsible man, What was he thinking? What happened to Ramya, she was not even thinking of her when she went to the bank.
She could not sleep. She was thinking of Barath and his touching and his disappearance….
Barath came home and went to his room. Rathi was not there, he came down,his mother was coming from her room to see him. He did not see his mother, he saw the servant and asked ‘where is Barathi?’ she did not answer but turned back and saw his mother. His mother said ‘your wife has left from here yesterday and she is not here’ he was shocked to hear this.
‘This is why, you should always respect your elders and especially your mother, now what happened? Your wife has disrespected you, I don’t think she belongs to a good family, did you ever contacted her family? I am telling you, forget her and get married to your cousin as I’d already promised your father. At least you can honor your dad’s wish.’ His mother was kept talking.
He was really furious and asked his mom ‘ what did you tell my wife? She belong here, did you kick her out? I don’t belong this house any more. I will not stay in the place, where my beloved wife was not accepted. This is not my home anymore.
He went to his room and took all his things and important papers of his business money, all his property documents and everything and called for the servant to help him take his suitcases.
He came down, his mother was sitting in living room’ are you leaving this house and me just for some bitch,’
