Why don’t we take a hotel room nearby so that, we can get shower and come back, what do you say?
She said ‘yes, I think that’s the better idea, do you think, this hospital is good? Is there a better hospital where we can transfer there?’
He said ‘It’s not a good idea at this point, let’s see, I know the hospital is very good, hang on a minute, I will check about the doctor, I am not sure how this doctor is?’
He, googled from his phone and typed the doctor’s name and read what was given there.
He told his wife, ‘the doctor is good, he has treated many patients, when they came in worst cases, so let’s continue the treatment here itself.’
She nodded her head.
There came in Selvam, ‘Hello, sir, did you talk to the doctor, is he already here?’
“No, Selvam, not yet?, I wanted to know who admitted her here, and what happened to her, how did this happen?’ Barath was asking him too many questions at a time
‘Sir, one of the servants, called the doctor and said that she fell down from the stairs and that she was unconscious, and the doctor has arranged for an ambulance and brought her to this hospital, once they checked and found that she was paralyzed on one side, they immediately treated her, when I got a call from your servant, she informed me that she was seriously ill and did not give me any further information. Immediately, informed you, once you told me to check, I called to find out how she is doing they said that she’s been taken by the ambulance and then told me to call the doctor, then the doctor told me that she’s been admitted in the hospital. When I came here, she was in the same state. Sir, don’t worry now that you are here she’ll be alright.’
Barath was crying for leaving her alone, and that she was like an orphan when she fell sick, god at least she is alive that he can see and talk to her now.
Barathi, came near him and hugged him and consoled him, while they were very close, Selvam left the room to leave them alone.
When the doctor came there at ten, Barath introduced himself, and said that he handed over the medicine to the duty doctor, he turned to the nurse and said ‘call the duty doctor’
The duty doctor came there with the injection which Barath brought from USA. The doctor injected both the medicine and told Barath that pray to god for the successful result, we’ll wait another twenty four hours to see how this medicine works,
Barath said, ‘thanks doctor, another one thing, I want the permission for both of us to stay here with her,’
The doctor said, ‘we usually don’t permit more than one person to stay with, but on a special ground, We will permit, you two, to stay here. Will check on her, when she regains conscious and the doctor left the room.
Barath called selvam and told him ‘you stay here, till we get back and do not leave anywhere, book a room in a close by hotel, arrange a full time nurse’
He gave the instruction and left from there with his wife, when he went out, the car was waiting for him.
They went home,’ the servants came there running, how are you sir, madam?’
He just nodded the head and went to his room with Barathi, he told her to shower by the time he will go and talk to servants about, what happened to his mom.
She didn’t answer, but went to the bathroom to take shower, he closed the door and went down to see the servants.
‘Nila, were you here when my mom fell down what happened to her and how did this happened?’
She said ‘I was here, when your mom fell down……, your cousin was here too, ‘he was stoned when he heard this, he knew something of this sort would have happened to his mom. He said go on…..
‘When she entered she was alright, when I took juice for her she was asking money from your mom, she said, I do not have money, my son stopped paying money, so I am helpless, do not ask me money anymore, that’s what I heard your mom saying. Your cousin said, ask your son to send money or get yourself seriously ill so that, he will rush back, wherever he is right now and she dragged your mom to the stairs and pushed her from there, I was shocked, and was not able to move from where I was. She called the doctor using my name, and asked for the ambulance herself, and she called my name and I did not move from where I was, the other lady came in and she told her, when the ambulance arrives tell them, she fell from the stairs, and ask them to treat immediately, I’ve already spoken to the doctor, She went away.’
After a while, I came to conscious and called your office and told him that she was seriously ill. He first didn’t believe me, but later I gave him the doctor’s phone number to contact.
When she was saying, the tears wetted his shirt.
‘Sir, please do not tell your cousin, that I told you everything, she didn’t know that there was an eye witness for this incident. She would have killed me by now, if she’d any clue that I’d seen this, no one here knew about it so far, I was scared to tell anyone, I didn’t want to trust anybody, I was praying to god that I should be alive till you get back.’
Barath, told her that, no one would ever know about the conversation two of us had, but when needed you have to tell, the truth, to the appropriate people to know the truth,’ right now it’s only between us and my wife. You will be rewarded for what you did now.’
‘Yes sir, I would, as long as you protect me from that devil’
He said ‘ I would, look Nila, we would be staying in the hotel nearby the hospital, so if that devil comes here, tell her that I am back and I am in the hospital, if at all she asks about my wife, tell her that you don’t know anything about my wife, ’
‘ok sir, I’ll do as you say’
