Chillzee Recipes - Turkey Berry (Sundakkai) Kaara kuzhambu - Renjitham
Ingredients:
Turkey berries (Sundakkai) - 100 gms
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Red chilli powder - 1 spoon
Coriander Powder - 3 spoon
Turmeric powder - Small pinch
Salt - As Required
Mustard seeds - little
Curry leaves - few leaves
Tamarind - 2 marble size
Preparation
1. Soak Turkey berries (Sundakkai) for 5 mins and wash them.
2. Cut onion and Tomato into small pieces. Prepare tamarind extract by soaking tamarind in water.
3. Heat oil in a pan. When its hot, add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Allow them to splutter.
4. Add cut onion and Turkey berries to the pan and saute them.
5. Once the onions are caramelized, add cut tomato pieces.
6. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt
7. After a few minutes add tamarind extract and salt. Add more water if required.
8. Allow the gravy to boil. When it reaches required consistency, remove it from the furnace.
