We all know that milk is rich in nutrients. Especially Calcium in the milk helps to strengthen bones and teeth.

But there are are people who don't like milk. Then how can they get the required calcium?

Here's quite a few calcium rich food items that can be considered as alternative for milk.

Almonds [Badam]

Almond has plenty of nutrients including calcium. 100 grams of Almond contains 264 milligrams Calcium.

Sesame seeds [El]

One tablespoon of sesame seeds contains about 50 milligrams of calcium.

Sesame seeds are also rich in minerals, vitamins and protein.

Cabbage [Muttai gos]

100 grams of cabbage contains 105 milligrams of calcium.

Sardine fish [Mathi meen]

100 grams of the fish has about 382 milligrams of Calcium.

The fish is also rich in Vitamin D

Cumin seeds [Jeeragam]

Cumin seeds is rich in Calcium. 100 grams of cumin seeds contains 631 milligrams of Calcium.

Orange juice

Orange juice contains calcium citrate which is very good for health.

Half a cup of orange juice contains 175 milligrams of Calcium.

Ladies finger / Okra [Vendakkai]

100 grams of Ladies finger contains 81 milligrams of Calcium.

Ladies finger is rich in nutrients and can be consumed as raw also.
