Solai malare kaalai kathire is a different story from Ramani Chandran..

The Plot:

Varalakshmi, a wealthy estate owner has two sons, Aanandhan and Sadhanandhan. Once Aanandhan used a powerful fertilizer for the young saplings in his land, which altogether spoiled all the plants. From then on, Varalakshmi always prefers and believes her younger son Sadhanandhan for all important activities. Though Aanandhan tries hard to win confidence of his mom, it all goes in vain.

Finally with the help of Sadhanandhan, Aanandhan gets his chance to show his worth to his mom. So he visits Chennai but unfortunately he falls ill. There he gets help from three siblings, Surabi, Sowmini and Gunaseelan. They had lost their parents when they were young and Surabi has taken the responsibility of taking care of her twin brother and sister. Aanandhan and Surabi fall in love. Since Aanandhan knows about his mom's attitude towards him, he decides to marry and take Surabi along with him.

Though Sowmini and Gunaseelan are surprised, they yield to their elder sister's wish and decide to accompany her and stay with her for some time. As expected Varalakshmi is annoyed with Aanandhan's marriage and decides not even to meet him and his new wife. Sowmini is angered by this and suspects Sadhanandhan's hand in Varalakshmi's attitude towards Aanandhan.

But to her surprise, as days goes by, she starts to realize that she is falling in love with Sadhanandhan. Sadhanandhan also reciprocates her love. But will Varalakshmi accept Sowmini as her daughter in law? And what about Surabi and Aanandhan?

Though not a classic Ramani Chandran story, this is a nice story for all family story lovers and romantic story lovers.
