உழவர் திருநாளில் உழவர்க்கு முதல் வணக்கம்!

நாளெல்லாம் உழைத்து 

நெற்றி வியர்வை நிலத்தில் சிந்தி 

உயிர் காக்கும் பயிர் வளர்த்த 

எங்கள் உழவனுக்கு முதல் வணக்கம் !

காடு  மேட்டை கலப்பைக் கொண்டு உழுது 

வறண்ட பூமியை வளமாக்கி 

விதை விதைத்து பயிர் வளர்த்த 

எங்கள் உழவனுக்கு முதல் வணக்கம் !

சேற்றிலும் சகதியிலும் 

கல்லிலும் முள்ளிலும் 

தன் கால்தடம் பதித்து 

இரவு பகல் பாராமல் 

உண்மையாக உழைக்கும் 

எங்கள் உழவனுக்கு முதல் வணக்கம் !

வயலுக்கு வாய்க்கால் வெட்டி 

பயிரின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு உரம் தூவி 

வரப்பு மேட்டில் வேலியாய் காத்திருக்கும் 

எங்கள் உழவனுக்கு முதல் வணக்கம் !

களை எடுத்து பயிரின் நிலை உயர்த்தி 

முத்திட்ட நெல்மணியை சுமந்திட்ட பயிரை 

கண் விழித்து காவல் காத்த 

எங்கள் உழவனுக்கு முதல் வணக்கம் !

கதிர் முற்றி தலைகுனிந்த நெற்பயிரை அறுவடை செய்து 

களத்து மேட்டில் கட்டடித்து 

மலை போல குவிந்திருக்கும் நெல்மணியை பார்த்து மகிழும் 

எங்கள் உழவனுக்கு முதல் வணக்கம் !

மற்றவரும் மகிழ்ந்திட செங்கரும்பை பயிரிட்டு 

வாய் மணக்க நாவினிக்க  

தை திருநாளில் ஊருக்கே வழங்கிய 

எங்கள் உழவனுக்கு முதல் வணக்கம் !
