பொதுவாக எப்படி சளி, அலர்ஜி  வந்தால் தும்மல் வருகிறதோ அது போல சிலருக்கு பிரகாசமான ஒளியை பார்த்தாலும் தும்மல் வருமாம். இதை ஒளி தும்மல் - photic sneeze reflex என்று அழைக்கிறார்கள்.

விஞ்ஞானிகளால் கூட சரியாக விளக்க முடியாத விஷயங்களில் இதுவும் ஒன்றாகும்.
