அந்நிலநடுக்கத்தால் பெருமளவு நிலப்பரப்பு கடலுக்கடியில் மூழ்கியது. இவர்களை போல் இன்னும் எத்தனை நிலப்பரப்புகளும் அதில் இருந்த மக்கள், விலங்குகள் கடல் நீருக்குள் புதைந்து போனார்கள் என்பது அந்த கடலுக்கே தெரியும்.
