" பயப்படாதே! அந்தப் பெட்டியை திருப்பி எடுத்துப் போகிறவரையில், நாம ரெண்டு பேரும் இங்கேயோ, உன் வீட்டிலோ சேர்ந்தே இருப்போம்! ரெண்டு மாசம் கொரோனாவிலே வீட்டோட இருந்தாப்போல, இப்ப உன் நம்பிக்கைக்காக, வீட்டிலே இருக்கேன்......சரியா?"
" உன் அனுபவம் எனக்கு வருமா? நான் சொல்லாமலே எல்லா விஷயத்தையும் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, எனக்கு உதவுகிற உன் வாழ்க்கையில் எனக்குப் பங்கு தரியா?" என சப்னா, முத்தையாவின் காலில் விழுந்தாள்.
சப்னாவை எழுப்பி, முத்தம் தந்துவிட்டு, முத்தையா சொன்னான்: " பணம் சம்பாதிக்க கஷ்டம் அனுபவிக்கிறதைவிட, சேர்த்துவைத்த பணத்தை பாதுகாக்கிற கஷ்டமிருக்கே, பயங்கரம்! ஏன், தெரியுமா? சட்டப்படி அரசுக்கு கட்ட வேண்டிய வரியை ஏமாத்தி கறுப்புப்பணம் வைத்திருக்கிற காரணத்தாலே!
இப்படியெல்லாம் தவறு செய்து வைத்திருக்கிற பணம் நாமா அனுபவிக்கப்போறோம்? யோசனை பண்ணு!"
சப்னா யோசித்தாள். ஒரு முடிவோடு, முத்தய்யாவிடம் எதுவும் பேசாமலே, அறையைவிட்டு வெளியேறினாள்.
மறுநாள் மாலை செய்தி பரபரப்பாக பேசப்பட்டது! 'சப்னா வீட்டில் வருமான வரி ரெய்டு! கோடிக்கணக்கான பணம் சிக்கியது! சப்னா, சிரித்த முகத்துடன், அதற்கான வரியும்அபராதமும் தர ஒப்புக்கொண்டாள்.'
