அடுத்த முக்கால் மணி நேரத்தில் மாப்பிள்ளை வீட்டுக்காரர்கள், டிபன் அருந்தி முடித்து விட்டுக் கிளம்பத் தயாராக,
அர்ச்சனா அக்காவிடம் வந்து, “அக்கா எல்லாரும் புறப்படறதுக்கு ரெடியாயிட்டாங்க...உனக்கு இன்னொரு தரம் நல்லா மாப்பிள்ளையைப் பார்க்கணும்னு இருந்திச்சுன்னா...வா..இங்க வந்து நின்னு பார்த்துக்கோ!...அப்பத்தான் கனவுல வருவார்!...ஆடுவார்...பாடுவார்...ம்ம்ம்...வேற என்னென்னவோ செய்வார்!” என்றாள் கண் சிமிட்டலுடன்.
“ஏய்...நீ என்கிட்ட நல்லா அடி வாங்கப் போறே?”
“நான் உன் தங்கை...என்னைய நீ அடிக்கலாம்...ஆனா இந்தப் பழக்கத்தை நாளைக்கு புருஷன் கிட்டேயும் காட்டிடாதே!...”
“இரு...இரு...உனக்கும் ஒரு நாளைக்கு கல்யாணம் நிச்சயமாகும்...அப்ப நான் பேசறேன் இந்தப் பேச்சையெல்லாம்!”என்றாள் சுலோச்சனா.
மாப்பிள்ளை வீட்டுக்காரர்கள் எல்லோரும் சென்ற பின் வீடே வெறிச்சோடிப் போனது.
ஜமுக்காளத்தில் தரகருடன் அமர்ந்து சீரியஸாய் எதைப் பற்றியோ பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தார் தேவநாதன்.
விஷயம் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாய் காம்பௌண்டிற்குள் பரவ, பக்கத்து விட்டு பானு நேரில் வந்து சுலோச்சனாவிடம் தன் வாழ்த்தைச் சொல்லி விட்டுச் செல்ல, அர்ச்சனா அவளிடம் சம்பூர்ணம் வந்து போனதைப் பற்றியும், அங்கு அவள் நடந்து கொண்ட விதத்தைப் பற்றியும், வயிற்றெரிச்சலோடு புலம்பித் தீர்த்தாள்.
“விடும்மா...விடும்மா!...ஆண்டவன் இருக்கான்...அவன் பார்த்துக்குவான் எல்லாத்தையும்!” என்றாள் பானு.
அவர்கள் பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்த அந்த விநாடியில் அந்த அலறல் குரல் எல்லோரையும் உறைய வைக்கும் விதத்தில் ஒலித்தது.
அர்ச்சனா அரண்டு போனாள்.
பானு பீதியில் சிலையாய் நின்றாள்.
“இது...இது...அந்த சம்பூர்ணத்தின் குரல் அல்லவா?” கேட்டபடியே பார்வதி வெளியே ஓடினாள்.
