Pallavi sighed and turned her face away from him.
They remained quiet till they reached Pallavi’s parents home.
Prabakar stopped the car in front of the gate. Pallavi took her bag and got ready to get out of the car… But then she hesitated for a couple of seconds…
“I am sorry Praba, it’s not that I want to hurt you… I just want to help you… Any mistake can be corrected...”
Even before she could complete her sentence Prabakar softly kissed her in her cheeks.
He smiled at her surprised look…
“Dear wife, I know about you… I know how much you love me too… If you could just avoid taking this topic, there will be no need for unnecessary problems…”
“Praba…”
“No Pallavi… I need to leave now… I will return early today… We will go out, ok?”
“Hmmm… ok…”
Saying that she got down from the car and waved bye to her husband.
While driving to his office, Prabakar’s mind was completely filled by Pallavi and Pooja.
Pallavi and Pooja had a very good rapport. Though Pooja was a reserved type girl, Pallavi tried hard to make her feel comfortable…
It was a terrible shock for Pallavi when she first heard about Pooja’s register marriage…
Even before she could come out of it Prabakar gave her another shock by refusing to accept the dejected Pooja…
Still, Pallavi tried hard to change Prabakar’s heart…
“Will you do this if she is your real sister?” she had asked him…
That was the only time he had seen his wife losing her temper…
‘She might be my cousin, but in my heart she is my real sister Pallavi…’ he said to himself…
Though he haven’t shown it up directly even he missed Pooja a lot…
When he first saw Pooja almost twenty years back, she was a small girl about the age of Akshita. Prabakar has always liked Charu chithi (aunt) and as if to follow up the bond, he had developed a very special attachment with Pooja the moment he saw her as a small girl.
And then eight years back, Charu had given that important task to him…
“… I don’t have anyone else Praba! You are my only hope. I am doing this for Pooja… I want her to be happy… I don’t want her to suffer from the curse…”
He could still hear Charu’s voice…
‘Sorry Chithi, it didn’t go as you wished… Looks like Pooja had to pay price for your friend’s suffering…’ He thought to himself with a sigh…
‘But whatever be it I will take care of Pooja, please don’t worry about it chithi…’
“Twenty five lakhs?”
“Yes Pooja, if we can somehow arrange this money then we can safely bring back Kannan to India…” said Rangaswami.
“But uncle is this Abioye reliable?”
“Yes Pooja he is genuine… He is a very nice person too…”
“But how can we trust those people? Do they really have Kannan uncle with them? Did they show any proof?”
“Yes Pooja, Abioye said he spoke to Kannan…”
“What? Really?”
“Yes Pooja! I can understand your excitement… Abioye told me that even Kannan was very happy to know about you… Looks like, he was also anxious about his family…”
“That’s understandable uncle but unfortunately we don’t have any details about them… Can you please ask Abioye to ask some details about uncle’s family? May be we can try to find them too…”
“Sure, I will tell him… But how are you planning to arrange this money? Can we ask Prabakar?”
“I need to think about it uncle…”
“We need to act fast Pooja…”
“I know uncle…”
Pooja kept her mobile phone in her hand bag and started walking towards the bungalow where she stayed with Annie and the students…
“Twenty five lakhs, where can I go?”
“What twenty five lakhs?”
Nikhil’s stern voice came from nowhere and dazed her…
