When Thulasi reached her house, her face was glowing with smile. Saradha and Kavya who were busy discussing something turned back to meet Thulasi and were pleasantly surprised by her glowing face. Both of them shared a surprised glance.
"Hey, what’s special akka, you look very young today????" asked Kavya teasingly...
"Hey Kavi, come on stop it... I have a good news..."
"Wow super!!! Akka, I have a good news too..."
"Hmmm... What’s that Krishna is coming back, is it???"
"Oh no akka, not for now..." said Kavya a bit shyly.
"Wow, I am surprised that my little sister can be shy too..."
"Akka stop it!!! You know what, I have got an onsite opportunity...."
"Really!!!????" asked Thulasi both surprised and shocked.
"What type of reaction is this akka???"
"No, I can’t imagine staying away from you Kavi..." said Thulasi in a low husky voice.
"Kavi, tell her the correct information..." said Saradha who was listening to the sisters’ conversation.
"Oh yes, sorry akka... nowadays onsite is not just about travelling abroad! We have many India based projects also... I am going to work onsite at "My India" hotels head office.... This is also in Chennai..."
"Oh!"
"Yes akka... A new company named DK Inc has acquired this hotel chain and now they want to modernize it... As part of the changes they are also trying to automate lot of things using software. I will work from the hotel head office, rest of the team will work from our office... I will get extra allowance for this..."
"Good!!!"
"Yes akka, this is going to be a big challenge for me... As you know I have only few months experience but my manager feels that I can do this..."
"Yes Kavi, I am sure about it too... you are too talented madam..."
"Thanks akka... But looks like the client is not that very happy about my profile..."
"Why???"
"I think they were expecting someone with lot of experience to come and help them at onsite... But my manager has convinced them for now... So, after three months if they feel that I am not good enough I have to come back..."
"Oh!!!"
"Yes akka... That’s why it’s very challenging and I am all set for accepting the challenge..."
"Great! All the best my little sister..."
"But you also wanted to share some good news right Thulasi?" asked Saradha.
"Oh yes amma... I told you about Seetha madam right? She has accepted to invest in our boutique. Now we can expand and if possible we are thinking about renting the shop next floor too... ofcourse there are lots of plans... need to execute them properly!"
"Congrats akka!!! So how do you know this Seetha madam?"
"Oh, that’s a long story... I will tell you about that later... Now let’s have dinner. I am very hungry..." said Thulasi.
Kavya reached the My India Hotels head office well ahead of time. Her manager has promised to accompany her today for introducing her to the managers there. She was a bit nervous because she was aware of the huge challenge waiting in front of her. Sathish her Project manager arrived on time. He introduced her to Ramesh her client side reporting manager. Ramesh was very friendly. He introduced her to other team Members and also helped her to understand her role and responsibilities. Slowly as days went by Kavya started to feel comfortable working with the team. She was a talented girl and hence came up with lot of innovative ideas.
Ramesh, his team and even his senior managers were very happy with the hard working and talented Kavya. She made friends easily and became a big asset to their team. After three months when the first version of the software which will help the hotels to save the guest information and retrieve the information from any of the hotels got released, Kavya herself was very nervous and excited. The launch was a big success. And the management decided to go ahead and automate all the departments of the Hotels. Kavya’s contribution was much appreciated and she got a good hike in her company too.
My India IT team organized a party to celebrate the success of the launch. That’s when Kavya got a chance to meet the CEO of DK Inc, Dinakaran!
While Kavya was busy working on her new project, Thulasi was very busy expanding her boutique. Uma and Thulasi met Seetha periodically and updated on their activities and also listened and accepted her good ideas. Slowly a bond started to grow between Seetha, Thulasi and Uma. They were more like friends than just partners. The three together expanded Fabulous boutique and they also made some eye catching changes to the interiors. On Seetha’s advice they recruited couple of more fashion experts and couple of experienced tailors. Seetha also recommended the boutique to her friend’s circle. So slowly they also started getting orders from high profile people. Their new customers were very much impressed by the service, quality and the price. So Fabulous Boutique started to grow rapidly!
Thulasi and Uma credited Seetha for the growth. But Seetha humbly rejected that and claimed Thulasi and Uma’s hard work and talent for the success. Thulasi and Uma made sure that they share the profit promptly with Seetha. Though reluctant, Seetha accepted the money mainly to keep her son quiet. One day while chatting about general matters, Seetha enquired Uma and Thulasi about their families....
