“Pch Uma… But who is this WE?”
“Me, Seetha amma, even Shoba…”
“What?”
“Yes Thulasi… Really speaking it was Shoba who first hinted me about this…“
“Oh!” said an astonished Thulasi.
“There’s a whole lot of difference in the way he looks at you… I don’t know why he has not proposed to you yet… But I think you should talk to him on this… Since Krishna has brought up this issue, this is a good chance for you…”
“But how can I? And… I don’t have any such feelings towards him Uma…”
Uma looked at her friend for a few seconds…
“Ok, tell me do you love someone else?”
Thulasi hesitated for a while and said,
“No…” in a soft voice.
“Good… Then there are no issues… You think about this now… I know you are smart Thulasi. Everyone is not lucky to marry someone who adores you… who loves you… Dinakaran will be an apt match for you in all aspects… “
Both Thulasi and Uma were disturbed by some noise near the entrance and were surprised to see Dinakaran and Misha there. They came out of the room and Misha rushed and hugged Thulasi.
“Thank god, you are here! I need your help Thulasi…”
“Sure Misha… You surprised me… Tell me what help you need?” asked a confused Thulasi.
“My fiancé is coming from London… He is also an Indian settled in UK… I want to surprise him in a sari… I want to select a sari that looks both modern and traditional… You know what I am saying?”
“Yes Misha…” said Thulasi with a smile and added,
“This is Uma my friend and I think she is the best person to help you…”
“Oh great… Dinu suggested that I talk to you… I tried calling your number but your mom said you have gone out… We were not sure whether you will be here…”
“Oh yes… I came here to meet Uma…” said Thulasi in a low voice.
She turned her eyes towards Dinakaran who was busy talking to the sales girls… He didn’t even turn his eyes towards her… Disappointment filled her heart…
Thulasi turned her attention to Uma, who has already started showing some new sari collections to Misha.
Thulasi kept looking in the direction of Dinakaran but he didn’t even turn his face once in her direction…
Krishna’s condition and Uma’s advice kept coming back in her mind…
Why is he like this? Is he angry or has he changed his mind?
No he is not a person who will change his mind daily…
Thualsi was very puzzled that she stopped taking part in Misha’s sari selection… But Uma and Misha continued to discuss new sari designs and materials… Suddenly out of blue, Dinakaran came and joined their conversation.
“Misha, you haven’t selected a sari yet? I can give you five more minutes…”
“Dinu don’t be in a hurry… It should be the best sari ever…”
“Hmm… So it will take another 5 hours atleast?”
“Dinu!”
Uma and Misha smiled at Dinakaran’s teasing words and continued with their selection. Thulasi stood their quiet without showing any emotions…
Dinakaran gave a quick glance towards Thualsi and turned to Uma and asked,
“I hear that your friend is also getting married soon… So, what about the dress selection for her?”
Uma smiled, looked at Thulasi and said,
“As you know she herself is a designing expert… So, she doesn’t need any help from me sir…”
Misha seemed to be surprised by their conversation.
“Whom are you talking about? Is it Thulasi? But Dinu you said…”
“Misha, you are my friend and I will tell you many things, don’t get confused by that…” interrupted Dinakaran.
“What are you talking about? I am mystified…” said Misha.
“That’s good!” said Dinakaran with a smile and turned towards Thulasi and asked,
“Thulasi madam, I heard some news from Krishna… So, who is going to be this lucky person? I know men will be standing in queue to hold your hands…”
Even Uma got a bit confused and she gave a baffled glance towards Thulasi…
Thulasi could understand Dinakaran’s intentions… She started thinking of a way to give him a fitting reply and as if to help her Ranjan appeared in the picture.
“Hello Thulasi! You look very pretty today…” said Ranjan with his trademark exaggerated smile.
Thulasi looked at him a for a couple of seconds and without thinking much, turned towards Misha and said,
“This is Ranjan, my fiancé, Misha!”
Misha’s face showed signs of bewilderment while Thulasi could see that Uma is literally shocked. She turned her eyes towards Dinakaran and was completely disappointed…
Dinakaran stood there with a flashing smile, his eyes beaming with excitement… There was not even a single sign of disappointment…
