‘He asked her, why did you want to come here?’
She said that ‘this is always my favorite, I come here with my friend Ramya, she introduced me this place and food is awesome here’
He was listening to her with a real enthusiasm…..and enjoying the way she was talking to him like a small child.
She saw his reaction in his face and her face was reddened.
He said to her’ you know, we are getting married tomorrow’
She was ‘puzzled, did not understand, why he was saying this ’
She asked him ‘why do you say this?’
He said with a very low voice’ you are reddening too much and I can’t sustain this for very long. I want to take you in my hands now. So you should make me wait till tomorrow. It’s in your hands please,’ he said that and her face colored again and she turned her face to the other side.
He smiled himself in his throat, she found his smiling and reddened again and he blew a hot breathe out.
The waiter came to their table to take the order, he recognized her, Barath asked her what does she want to eat?

She said ‘one dosa’ he asked her ‘what?...... Dosa?’
She said ‘yes, that’s all I want’.
He told the waiter to get some sweets first and the food she and him ordered followed by the ice cream of her favorite.
‘Ok, now tell me? How do you intent to tell your parents about our marriage tomorrow?’ he asked her….
She was asking him back ‘should we get married tomorrow itself? Why not we wait for little longer,, so that we get to know each other well.’
‘Look Rathi I’ve decided to get married tomorrow, if you are not interested in doing that let me know now, I’ve made all arrangements.’
‘That’s what I am asking, why so hurry, why can’t we talk to our parents and they will decide the date and we get married’ she was still scared to ask him such questions. She thought that if he leaves her in anger, he may not come back to her.
She cannot take that. She knew, she cannot live without him. She loves him so much after he hugged and kissed her this afternoon she wanted him so much and could feel that he is the man of her life.
He started talking but there was an interruption, a girl came there and was staring at Barathi, and asked her ‘how is your head ache? Barathi’
Barath understood this must be Ramya, her friend whom she was talking and he didn’t like the interruption.
Barathi lifted her head and saw Ramya standing with two hands folded and staring at her.
Barathi tried to smile at her and she failed and was shy to look at her face, because she was with a man.
‘I am feeling better Ramya, what are you doing here?’ she felt herself what kind of a question is this? Ramya started answering her ‘I suppose, everyone come to restaurants to eat?’
Barath said ‘I thought you came here to chat’ he looked at Ramya
Barathi started ‘hey, I forgot to introduce him, he is Mr.Barath Ram, my friend’
Barath asked ‘your friend?? Tell her, I am your fiancé,’
Ramya asked ‘Fiance! When did you two get engaged? and you never told me anything, you still remember, I am your friend right, by the way when is your marriage? Are you going to tell me this, after your marriage?’ her face looked very furious.
‘Oh! Oh!!! Wait, do not bother my girl, I will tell you everything’ he said,
Ramya turned to Barath and said to him, ‘I am talking to my friend, I want the answer from her,’ she turned back to Barathi
Barathi bent her head and could not see her friend’s face and told her ‘I did not hide anything from you, we….. we……’ she could not go further
Barath said’ we decided about it only today, so she did not get a chance to tell you anything before’
She asked’ what are you saying? Though you decided about the marriage today you two must have met before and she did not tell me about your affair earlier, I am so upset that you’ve been hiding about the love between you two Barathi’
Barath said ‘you are wrong Ramya, we’ve met only today and talked about us and decided to get married’
Ramya asked ‘you two met today and decided to get married? I don’t understand people meet for at least months and then understand each other and decide about their future and get married’
‘It’s, other people and we are not like others. Those days the arranged marriages were like this they see and they like and decide about the marriage date and they talk only after they get married and that too, when no one is around them’
Barath thought he should not let this girl talk a lot and change her mind. Her mind is already confused.He immediately told Ramya ‘tomorrow, why don’t you join us at the temple. Your friend needed you, what do say Rathi?’
