The outing that Kalai planned turned out to be an instant hit. In a hill station the climate is always cold but what made it fabulous was the green scenery and the colorful flowers. They went to rose garden, dam and waterfalls.
Though Pooja was with Kalai and Pallavi, her ‘impulsive enlightenment’ the previous night, made her look at Nikhil now and then!
Most of the times, Nikhil was also secretively observing her and that made her blush and turned her cheeks red!
And that shyness made him gaze at her more often!
In addition to Nikhil’s adoring gaze, the rapport she had seen between Gayathri & Kannan and to an extent between Pallavi and Prabakar, also made Pooja long for her spouse’s affection.
She earned for him! Nothing seemed to be bigger than him! She was all but willing to let go of the past and lead a happy life with him.
But how can she convey it to him?
In the rose garden, there were many varieties of roses. Each one was beautiful and attractive in its own way. But Pooja’s eyes were automatically drawn towards a beautiful red rose.
Immediately old memories gushed through her…
Nikhil’s gaze… his words…her blush…
Everything surged in her memory…
“You like this rose?”
Nikhil’s voice suddenly sprung out of blue and startled her!
She didn’t say anything! But her eyes were locked into his magnetic eyes!
“Yes this rose is lovely… But in the same place we have a more beautiful rose... Do you think I can admire its beauty, adore it and have it just for me?”
He repeated the same words that he said two years back! Even the tone was almost the same!
But there was more love in it now! He was almost pleading to her!
Pooja could sense the love in his eyes! The humble appeal in his voice…
She stood there as if mesmerized by his love and affection!
This is not a lie! The sparkle in his eyes, the expectation in his face and the affection in his voice can’t be a false performance!
Just when she opened her lips to say yes, Prabakar made an unexpected entrance and said,
“Pooja I want to talk to you for a minute in private”
Pooja was confused but her eyes went back to Nikhil as if to get his permission.
Though there was a glimpse of disappointment in his face, Nikhil shrugged his shoulders and smiled as if to say yes and left the place!
