Healthy Recipes - Contest Entry 01 - Curry leaves chutney (Karuveppilai thuvaiyal) - Renjitham
Ingredients:
Curry Leaves - One handful
Grated coconut - 1 spoon
Cumin seeds (Jeergam) - 1/4 spoon
Shallot (Chinna vengaayam) - 1
Green chillies - 2
Tamarind - little
Salt - To taste
Preparation
- Heat oil in a pan. Saute Curry leaves, Shallot and Green chillies for a few minutes.
- Cool the sauteed items.
- In a mixie / blender, add the sauteed items, coconut, cumin seeds, Tamarind and salt.
Benefits
Folic acid is mainly important for carrying and helping the body absorb iron. Curry leaves are rich source of both iron and folic acid. Hence they are excellent source for beating anaemia.
Curry leaves also helps to keep blood sugar level low and hence is good for fighting against diabetes.
