Chillzee Recipes - Garlic Rasam - Pradeepa

Ingredients
Whole Garlic (separated and peeled) – 1
Red chillies -4
Pepper – 1/2tbspn
Jeera - 1tbspn
Tamarind – Gooseberry size
Tomato – 2
Salt – as needed
Curry leaves –one hand full
Mustard – 1/2 tbspn
Ghee -2tbspn
Turmeric –a pinch
Method
Grind half of the garlic pods, one tomato, red chillies, pepper, jeera and curry leaves and keep it aside.
In a kadai, add ghee. When it melts, add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
Add remaining half of the garlic pods and fry until it becomes golden colour.
Then add one chopped tomato and sauté for a minute.
Add a glass of tamarind extract, turmeric powder and salt.
Boil till the raw flavour of tamarind goes.
Now add the grinded ingredients and add a glass of water.
Just boil till it forms foam on top.
Transfer it in a vessel.
