தேன் கூட்டின் தலைவியாக இருப்பது ராணி தேனீ.

தேன் கூட்டில் இருக்கும் தேனீக்கள் பொதுவாக தங்களின் ராணி தேனீயைப் பின்தொடர்கிறார்கள்.

தேவை ஏற்பட்டால் ராணி தேனீ தன் தேன் கூட்டை வேறு இடத்திற்கு மாற்றும். அப்போது மற்ற தேனீக்களும் ராணியை தொடர்ந்து செல்வார்கள்.

இங்கே பளபளப்பாக தெரிந்த, சூடான கார் புதிய தேன் கூட்டிற்கு நல்ல இடம் என்று அந்த ராணிக்கு தோன்றி இருக்கலாம் என்று தேனீ நிபுணர்கள் ஊகிக்கிறார்கள்.
