22. Rose and Thorn - Sandhya

Sujatha’s marriage was a grand affair. Subha forgot her personal problems and wholeheartedly took part in her friends’ marriage ceremony.

Seeing Bharath and Suji together made her feel sentimental. She wished nothing but happiness for her friends.

Murthy and Shoba graced their presence for the ceremony, and Subha treated them as very, very special guests. She showered them with high, dignified hospitality.

Murthy and Shoba were literally touched by her kindness.

“I wish my kids behaved like you, Subha,” said a visibly worried Shoba holding Subha’s hands.

“Aunty, your kids are good. They have some spicy temper. What’s wrong with that?” asked Subha with a dashing smile.

Shoba couldn’t help but smile back.

“You are an angel, Subha,” said Shoba fondly.

Subha accepted her compliment with a simple smile.

Subha buried herself into her studies, just like an ostrich burying its head inside the ground. She kept herself busy, all 24 by seven. But still, she couldn’t help but remember Baskar in many small things.

Every time she saw the green churidar in her wardrobe, she remembered how Baskar had stared at her when she had worn it to the office.
