சோமுவுக்கு அந்தக் காசு பெரிதல்ல, ஆனால் அந்த பிச்சைக்காரனுக்கோ பசி தீர்க்கும் மாமருந்து!
கொடுப்பதில் உள்ள சுகம், பெறுபவனின் சுகத்தை விட அதிகம்!
குணவதி, கணவனிடம் " எத்தனை விதமான சுகம் பார்த்தீங்களா? பொதுவா, இருப்பது, மனசு! காரணம் வேற வேற, ஆனா சுகம் அதே! விசித்திரமாயில்லே?"
" அவங்க அவங்க தேவை பூர்த்தி செய்கிறவை தருகிற உணர்ச்சியே சுகம்!"
இப்படி நேரமே பார்க்க மறந்து, ஊரைச் சுற்றிவந்த களைப்பு உடலை வருத்திட, சாலையோரம் ஒரு இளநீர் கடை பார்த்தனர்.
தாகம் தணிய, இளநீர் வாங்கிக் குடித்தனர்.
தாகம், களைப்புக்கு இளநீர் இனிப்பாக இருந்ததா அல்லது இளநீரின் இனிப்பா என இருவருக்கும் சொல்லத் தெரியவில்லை, ஆனால் அந்த நேரத்தில் அது தந்த சுகம், அனுபவித்துத்தான் தெரிந்து கொள்ள முடியும்!
