“Thank you Subha. I appreciate your valiant and honest assessment. But, as you said, I am what I am! I can’t pretend to be someone else. I am rude, harsh and ruthless. It is the truth. You have to accept it.”
“Exactly, that’s what I thought till I saw your family picture in your home! I am sorry for trespassing sir, but I know this harsh Baskar is not your real face. Beneath all this rock and solid appearance, there is that soft and molten Baskar somewhere. Don’t try to pretend to be someone else Baskar sir. Be yourself. Please!” pleaded Subha.
Baskar’s face changed and became tough. Subha noticed it.
“I think I have spoken too much! Still, I am very happy you stayed back and listened to all this Baskar sir. When you get a chance, please think about what I said. Good night sir”
Subha left him there all alone! Baskar stood there for a few more seconds before starting walking towards his home!
Rather than what Subha said, it was what she did that stunned him.
Just before wishing him Good night, she smiled at him. A simple smile but a gracious and appealing smile, as always!
The way her lips curved to accommodate that smile tempted him to touch it.
A flash of desire rose inside him as a spark.
He has never felt anything like this before.
